Top Dogs of the 2011-2012 TV season (Part 3)

Ready, set...play!

Things just got serious as we move into our top 3 doggies from the 2011-2012 TV season! Let's start with our bronze winner:

3. 'Yakult' from Suburgatory, season 1

Yakult being held by her on-screen owner, Dallas.

This Poodle/Chihuahua mix is in fact called Lambchop, which is keeping with the food and drink theme of her on screen name. For those who missed the craze, Yakult is a Japanese
pro biotic yoghurt brand and Dallas, the little dog's owner in the show, admits to naming the dog after her favourite yoghurt drink.

As you might have guessed by now, Dallas is not meant to be the brightest bulb in the tanning bed (which she regularly uses) but she is hilarious, well-intentioned and often charming. Most importantly, she loves Yakult!

When single dad George Altman (Jeremy Sisto) moves his teenage daughter Tessa (Jane Levy) from the city to the suburb of Chatswin to provide her with a safer and more wholesome environment, one of the first people they meet is Dallas. She introduces them to a very neon, petty and often alien-seeming society which is entirely different to what they were used to in the city.

This oft-overlooked comedic gem is a colourful satire on suburbia and this little dog features prominently in it. Adored by Dallas yet hated by her spoilt daughter Dalia, Yakult has an insane amount of clothes and accessories which are -more often than not- bejeweled.

Yakult not only was nominated for a Golden Collar Award against our no.4 Stella from Modern Family but she also has a kick ass voice: Whoopi Goldberg's. I won't spoil it for you but on one occasion the little dog does indeed 'speak' to her owner!

The fluffball has become quite the sensation and is often talked about for being odd-looking but we love her! If you want to follow Yakult (who seems very opinionated by the way when it comes to things that really matter, like Prince Harry's naked pics) you can find her on twitter @OmgYakult

Check back tomorrow for our No.3 and in the meantime what do you think of Yakult?
